Private Residence
Brighton, NY

Bayer Associates designed and administered a wide variety of improvements to this residential property over the course of several construction phases.  Improvements have included an extensive system of stone walls, stairways, and walkways, a concrete and brick driveway, a brick entryway and planter, two garden sheds, ornamental wood fencing, a wood deck, plantings,  furnishings, and garden ornaments.  Located on a corner lot adjacent to a heavily trafficked roadway, Bayer Associates strived to create an appealing and functional garden which would afford its owners privacy and relief from the nearby traffic.  Stone walls, wood fencing, and dense layers of planting were used to create both visual and auditory separation from the street, as well as define a series of distinct but related outdoor rooms.  Passages between the rooms are highlighted by gateways and stairways, which punctuate the garden and add drama to the experience of moving about within it.
